Can you actually increase sales by increasing Sales Price? Theoretically possible. But is it even practical in current market scenario? Where everybody is talking about offers, discounts, freebies etc, how can i even suggest increasing the sales price?
Especially in Hospitality Industry. Generally, when we need to increase sales, we think of new marketing campaign or more ads on Social Media / Zomato etc? Very often, it is coupled with some offer on product as well.
Generally, we think of reducing the price to attract customers. Or, adding some more value at the same price.
How about increasing the price? WHAT!!! You would exclaim.
Sounds impossible in current times?
It is possible. Think about it. I am giving you a practical and implementable tip. Based on my suggestions, few restaurants have tried it, with good success rate.
You increase the price of one dish which you are about to market.
And, have a clear communication on what would you do with this extra money.
Donate the extra money for a cause most pertinent to that locality and to a reliable institution (You choose the cause and institution based on your local issues). It could be for feeding the poor section of society, or repairing the road to take care of monsoons, or to provide better facility for poor patients, it can be anything.
Then create the ad for this offer, highlighting the cause and contribution.
Say it clearly, how much of the sale (in % terms) or (Rs. Per plate terms) you would contribute.
Run it for a definite period (It could be a 1 Day campaign or a weekend, maximum a week).
Do a 360-degree media planning for such a campaign. Run a Facebook / Instagram with a decent budget per day. Post it on your social media accounts. Use hashtags appropriately to include the beneficiary organization as well as local authorities.
That would help spread your message even faster. Post it in the Food related FB groups and ask for support. If you know someone in local FM radio station, tell them about it and request support. They will happily oblige.
Not only you will do it for a noble cause, but it will also promote your brand as a “Socially Responsible Brand”.
Impact of such a campaign is generally long term and you get a very good and positive brand recall in the minds of your customers.
Never forget to follow up such campaign with the statistics. Declare the summary of your donations and thank the patrons for participating in the cause. Follow up publication often increases the trust factor and makes more people respond to your clarion call whenever you do it next.
How do you like this suggestion?
Will it work?
Tell me your experience if you run such a campaign.
